After much time and scouting this yr, I ended up getting some "advice", from a freind of a freind...I went to this area, which is private, and there was a blind, decoys, jerk string, all ready to go. Of course it was fogged in till 1030, but there were birds! It was a great place to hunt. Shot nine shells, killed 4 ducks and had one stolen by one of about 5 hawks circling the area. :bash: Oh well. I had a wonderful time, although my gun jammed on me 3 times. :dunno: I shoot a 870 supermag. I recently purchased some Smith & Wesson dry lube to use....Is that possibly the issue?? When reloading, it would kick out 2 shells from the tube. :dunno:
PS. All I had was my phone, sorry for the crappy pic. Still excited from yesterday!!

The issue with your gun has to do with the keepers that are supposed to prevent two shells from advancing. When you bring the slide back to pump the gun, the slides make contact with these keepers momentarily and allow the next shell to advance from the tube. Sometimes there is not enough or too much contact and it creates these feeding problems. I have an 870 Supermag that did this only the opposite problem - it wouldn't allow the next shell to advance. Ended up having to file away some material from the keeper that was causing the problem and now it works well.
Good job on the birds!

Ok, I think I may know what you are talking about. Where are they located, so that I may fix this issue? Thanks, I have had some issues hitting flying creatures, then gun issues as well, so I am excited I was able to shoot well yesterday.

Did you know who's decoys they were? were they your friends? the way I read it it looks like another guy is hunting the spot. Maybe replace his decoy? :dunno:

Yes, there is another person hunting it. I got permission from that person. I just did not get exact details about the feilds. I am not sure what you mean by replacing his decoy?? When I was there I cleaned out his blind of all the casings and trash, as a thank you.
