Well I had a good idea but didnt work as planned.. Yote season has been rough for me since the start of the contest had me with holes in my stomach not able to do anything. Get that healed up. Next glow plugs have been going out in my truck (but hey plug it in and only sitting for a hour per set max no big deal) but then I have a injector go out so time to start tearing apart a 7.3l. This is the time when you don't like the lift kit and big tires... So I figured hell I can hear yote's every time the train goes by 1/4 mile from the house I'll just throw my call out back(on 2 acres) and set up with my bow tonight and try my luck. Apperently foxpro's work great to call in your neibhor's dog. After returning 2 neibhors dogs and getting some pretty strange looks, must of been werid having a me bring back their dog at 8p.m. wearing full camo. decided to call it a night. :dunno:

Sounds classic
I've tried calling around some pastures for some farmers during calving season and have had the neighbors dogs come a running to the call

What kind of spot light do you guys use. I bought one but its junk because it plugs into a car. do they make some kind of battery pack that I can plug it into and pack around with me?

last night I was using the barn light, which is on most nights. Just bright enough for my pins to light up and see movement in the field. When out and about I using my AR I have two 150 lumen tac lights mounted on it for night ops. They let me see about 150 yards at night through the scope. You do have to take a quick shot with them when you hit the pressure switch the yotes will freeze for 10 seconds so you have to work quick. But my many hunting areas are woods, so I dont need alot of distance.

For yotes can I legally use a spot light?

You guys should check out either a kill light 250 or a smart light. The kill light is a red bulb, very powerful and the battery last for 4 hours. You can get a couple of rechargeable batteries that last all night long. My set up is the kill light on my rifle or my shotgun, whichever I take and a smart light for scanning. I can see well out to 200+ yards and it last 24 hours on a single charge. What I love about it is it's all on either a hardhat or asoftcap. The battery pack is on the back of your head, no wires going to a belt battery pack, very nice and compact.

Lightforce without a doubt is the best spotlight out there. They are spendy but cant be beat. I have went threw probably close to a 1,000.00 in spotlights in my life. Charge spotlights suck! I have had 10 mils that are junk and dont last for a hr and then you are done. Got to get a lightforce they are the best. I have about 6 q beams and they are o.k. best I have found so far other then lightforce.

A couple of years ago I would have totally agreed with you. I have a friend who has a lightforce and he bought the new kill light 250 and is going to sell his lightforce. Light is smaller, as bright and last 3 times as long on a charge and you can swap out the battery in about 45 seconds. The batteries are about the same weight as one "C" cell battery. Also not nearly as spendy. Even the new headlamps the coon hunters are using with the self contained battery packs on the back of the hat are as good as the lightforce, but hold a charge for up to 30 hours.

OK a easy way to settle this, carp send me a lightforce, machias send me a kill light 250 I will test both of them thoroughly and let you guys know what I find out. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
