He looks pretty young to me but I am far from an expert. Hoping he has a good couple years of growth coming up. Then again if i see him next year he won't be growing anymore.
-
Im gonna take a shot in the dark and GUESS 3-4 years old. I definately a rookie at judging bucks ages but sometimes I get lucky when I guess. Im just used to shooting the first legal buck I see.

3.5

He still has his baby face. Give him two more years and he will be very impressive.

Then you can eat a salad
That buck is 3-4 years old

4.5 based on your camera date, 3.5 in real time.

He'll be wolf sh*t in another 3 years.

3.5

3.5 was my guess as well. He just hast filled out yet. There is no shortage of food in the area so he's not missing any meals
-
3.5 - 4.5? He does look young. Very impressive antler growth, he is a dandy for sure!
-
3 1/2.... Look at the narrow face...... Not filled out at all.....
-
I hate how people always say ".5", I don't say I'm 21.5 years old.... But I would say he is 4
-
It is because when the bucks are in hard antler it is the fall and they are an additional 6 months in age. When you live only a few years .5 makes a difference. As far as humans, I hate it when people refer to their kids as being "26 months" etc!
-
Big difference...... Think of shooting a deer that is half a year old..... Then think of shooting a deer that is 1 1/2 years old...
-
half year old is a yearling to me, still dont see the reason but to each his own. Guess it goes into the same category of counting eye guards :chuckle:
-
Man, you really need to get back to work bro! :chuckle:
-
tell you in 8 or 9 months shot his twin but mines eye guards were alot longer and a lot thicker in the chest thats when i hear from the game dept on the teeth i sent in
-

Yeah that may be, but when you were 3 years and six months you always get the half year in.
Now in a deers case they are born end of may through June. So by hunting season they are really only 5-6 months old and each hunting season there after add a year...1 1/2 , 2 1/2...and so forth. Since your a young man and i know that the younger generations math skills are lacking, I thought I would explain it a little better for you. :chuckle:
-
:yeah:
-
Hambone-what unit did you get yours in? This guy is in 124. I was trying to find his big brother or dad that I saw during late archery with some post season scouting. Didn't find the monster but he is a nice surprise.
-
3.5 no saggy belly and not alotta flop in the brisket yet
:yeah:
...and I always add the half (.5) when talking about a buck in the fall. They are born in the spring and nearly full grown 6 months later. I just do it because it leaves less room for misunderstanding... :dunno:
He's gonna be a bruiser next year, and even bigger the year after (if he lives). That's a young buck with great genes. Good luck..

looks like a 3.5 hasnt filled out in the body yet or developed a roman nose
