Title: Shelton ,Matlock and surrounding area
Post by: Rocky Mtn Fever on July 21, 2008, 07:19:00 PM
with all the recent logging over the past few year the backyard bucks seem to be making a comeback. I see a lot more deer in the past 4 years then i have in a while....Just this morning i saw 2 out by Spencer lake and had them eating off my fruit trees in the early mornings.
The Matlock area has been producing some really nice blacktail bucks. I still prefer Mule deer hunting and the areas they inhabit but if a nice blacktail buck should get caught out in the open i just might have to take him home.

I used to see allot of nice bucks near the matlock/satsop area. Quit going out there about 5 years ago though. Great area
