Thought some of you might like to see a progress report on Bella the puppy. She's about 10 months old now. You might remember a thread on her progress that was going this last summer and fall. She's still learning from her mentor 12 1/2 year old Echo and myself. She did about a 150 yard retrieve on one of the birds today while we hunted a frozen over pond that I broke an opening in the ice for my decoys. Darn bird sailed on me and my jaw just dropped open at the speed of Bella as she had the bird pretty close to the time it hit the ground. Bella has wheels! Excuse the birds as I was more interested in working my girl than getting a limit. I could have had it had I not been in the open directing Bella. At least they are all big birds. Anyways here's picture of her doing what a lab is supposed to do. Be a bird dog...

What a beautiful pair of animals. Chocolate labs ARE without a doubt my favorite animal on the planet. I like them better than most humans. Good for you man enjoy your friends there

Great to hear about Bella's progress. So far all of Whidbey's pups that went to hunting homes are doing great!

Good lookin pups! Lovin the old gray muzzle!

You are right....she's gonna take up a whole lot more room in the front seat of the truck since last I saw her. Looks like what you need is an extra gun.....maybe I should go get my bird liscense.

Yes Hornseeker, the gray adds a lot of character to the old girl. Her gray eye brows are also an attention getter.
H20hunter, These came from C-Post. JK...
They are truly a pleasure to have.
I will always have a lab in my life...

I thought I knew that pond. Most people dont know about the waterfowling at cpost. Very underrated but worth it.

Thanks D-Rock, and as you saw Bella was happy to have made your acquaintance too. Lab's are so darn social it's funny.
