I just want to know what everyones else thoughts are on the placement of the wind decoy. Will it scare off the geese as they come in? Do you leave it out even though the wind isn't blowing... I have heard both ways , I would love to hear everyones else thoughts...
I have the hard plasctic wind decoy that goes on 1/2 pipe conduit...
Headed out here ina bit for some ducks and geese.. Good Luck everyone...

I only put mine out if there is enough wind for it to work. If the wind dies down I'll pull it.
I've used it when both duck & goose hunting. This late in the season though, I'd most likely not use mine.

Watch the way the birds are responding to it. If it is flaring them, then pull it. We haven't been using one all season. Used it during the snow and the birds were hovering over them. It's a situational use device.

What are you hunting? In my experience- any kind of spinner is bad when hunting canada's. They always react negatively to it. If I pull it, the next flock comes right in. Just my experience though. I have no idea how snows react to them?

Canada's,
Had some flare the other day with the wind decoy out. Wasn't sure what the cause was... Ima try both ways tommorow and see what happens... THe ducks and geese where I hunt are not call shy, or even act like they have been hunted. Oh and there is lots of them............lol.........
