check the prices at the bottom of the article. Granted that is '06, but sounds like a good deal to me. I have never used a 30d. I haven't looked around for any used prices, but i wouldn't think that is far off.

I have owned and used a Canon 30D. :) It was a great little camera for me and is still cranking out photos for the man and woman that bought it from me when I bought my Canon 7D.

Mine went with me all the way up to Sitka, Alaska on two different Fishing trips and it took hundreds of photos for my memories. :)

I would not even hesitate to tell anyone with a wish to buy a 30D to do so!

I was going to get a 30D, but a good deal for a 40D popped up and I took it.  If you can get it with the lens for $350 thats a deal.  If you dont like the lens it can sell for $200, if it is the kit lens.  Most of the bodies I found for sale were $250 or more.

I've owned a couple Canon Rebel cameras (350d).  The 300 rebel came out earlier, and they were good cameras.  The 30D is way better built, with a shutter life of 100,000 actuations.  If they are the original owners, it sound like a pretty good deal to me.

Ive had a rebel, 20D and now a 30D (had it a number of years now) and Its an awesome camera, Im working my way up to the 5DMKII.  The 20D I had had alot of issues, sent it to canon they said it was fine, never got in tune with it, but the 30D rocks.

I'm shooting with a 50d, which is in the same family of cameras.  I don't want to say what I paid for it new.  Next time I'm gonna look for a good deal on a used camera.  I'm liking the price huntnnw got, and sort of kicking myself.

I have an XTi, (yea I know, most people say it is a toy camera.. lol...) but I payed 200.00 for it and the lens, 2 batteries, all the software, cables, nice bag, etc.......  been watching ebay, you can get a 40d for about 300.00 saw one that only had 900 actuations that went for 350.00.  Deals can be had on camera bodies.

Just remember its weather resistant, not waterproof. ;)

I don't recommend this...  A few features stopped working after I got caught in this blizzard a few years ago and supposedly this is more weather resistant than the 30D...

Looks like you froze your tail off.  Hopefully only the camera had features quit working!   :chuckle:

Great camera... I'm waiting for the 5d mk III  if it ever comes out... want full frame.
After a point it's the lens though.

Kinda heavy in the pack... but made a great hunting book one year.   Ended up printing one for the Outfitter who dropped us.

Enjoy  and shoot raw
