Title: New to the area
Post by: akashasdaddy on February 03, 2012, 06:53:57 PM
I am fairly new to the area, trout season is gonna be here shortly, I was wondering if any of the kind folks on this page could guide me toward some good fishin' holes close to west Olympia and because I have a 5 year old daughter I was wondering if there were any juvenile only fishin' holes in the area as well?

You have a boat?  If you don't I have one for sale...  :chuckle:   Just kidding...

Black Lake is close to you.  It has some good fishing.  You would need to have a boat to really be successful and it has a large boat launch you could fish from.  Easy access too.

I don't live down that way so I can't help with local spots, but welcome to the site and the area. If you ever head up north to the Everett and Marysville area I can point you in the right direction. There are a couple of juvinile only lakes and some fun kids derbies. Good luck and good job getting her out fishing.

Longs pond out in Lacey is a youth only "lake" they stock every spring, just for kids.  Keep an eye on the Daily O for more info as the opener gets closer. I believe the lake opens a week before the general trout opener....
