Post by: h2ofowlr on February 06, 2012, 07:33:49 AM
I wanted to see if anyone has camoed out there boat using camo graphics or the sheets of adhesive camo?  I am looking at a new 20' North River and don't think I will paint this one.

For you guys looking for camo wraps for your boat. Look up BlueTorchFab on google and give them a call.  They are an offroad shop that does custom wraps for buggies and rock crawlers.  They can also cut any camo pattern and ship them to you.  When I was pricing it out, they were on the low end of the prices and they're one heck of a solid company.  Good customer service and someone I will continue to use in the future for camo needs as well as rig needs.  They dont advertise camo on their website, its all 4 wheel drive stuff, but give them a call and get a quote. They can do it.

Side note: I called and discussed them with them 3 years ago.  I know they are still doing custom wraps so I would ASSume that they will still do the camo patterns of your choice.

CamoClad comes in two diff thickness 1 is 3mm that is temp. and a 5 mm that is perm. I have the temp on my bike. In two years it has cracks and tears in it. But blazing trails may have done some of it. then there have been a few un sced get offs :chuckle:

H2O, I tried to post yesterday but something must have happened to it.  Here are some pics of my custom sled that I used the CamoClad on.  Great product and easy to apply.  I ordered it in either 4 or 6' sheets and cut to fit.  Really hard to see the seems until you get about 6" away.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

You can get it a lot cheaper off Ebay. the sheets will have a inperfection on a corner Not a issue to worry about. Easy to apply to flat surfaces. The curves on my bike was a beotch.
Just read their web site about how to apply

Is that a new boat from John Wolden?  I looked at having him make me a boat as well!

I had John build that boat for me in 08.  It was stolen out of my driveway, recovered the next day at Lowes in MV, and 8 months later the 380 pound Honda was stolen off the back (SOB THEIVES).  I figured that damn thing was cursed so I sold the boat and trailer and bought a North River Seahawk that I keep under lock and key!  The camo clad stuff was really easy to put on.  If I bought a new boat I would defintily consider ordering it with no side paint and put camo clad on myself.

My old boat had some on it when I got it, the boat had been sitting outside in the Tri Cities heat and cold for 3 years and it was starting to get brittle and crack in places. But it had not faded at all which I was pretty surprised about. I would rather put it on a nice boat over painting.

I had John camo my 18ft alumaweld super Vee, then a couple weeks later I got pulled over in suspicion of possessing a stolen camo boat, which was Bigbullballs.  Once the law enforcement checked out my registration they let me on my way to the river.  Sorry to here about the bad luck Bigbullballs...
