I'm thinking about getting their big phanny pack this week at the show in Portland. They seem to be the only high end pack that fits my skinny @$$ well. Are they worth the money?
-
YES.....and their customer service is A+. Located in Wash. state too.
-
you wont go wrong, they will fit it for you also. one of the best out there
-
I have a fleece Jacket and pant set that I bought from them back when the Sportsman show was in the "King Dome" and they are still holding together (shrank a little)...great Quality......
-
Nimrod makes nice stuff. It seems like I'm buying something new every year from them. Fanny pack, bino strap, bino cover, range finder holster etc. I like them and their stuff has not failed me yet.
-
I've used their pack/ fanny pack system for 10 or so years. It has performed perfect and I have carried some serious weight in it without issues. I highly recommend them.
-
I had one once :chuckle:........left it in Horseekers camp though :chuckle:
That thing took a beating in AK and probably should pursue getting it replaced, but I packed out 180 pound thighs/quarters on it. Not estimated, I weighed them. I figured if any pack could handle that....... busted a couple ribbitts but...

I have their Pinnacle day pack, love it. Bought the aluminum pack frame to haul loads. Great system, very functional day pack. I have owned Eberlestock, kelty, Blacks Creek, sold them all and use Nimrod now.
-
I have the Pinnacle, the Guide pack, the pack frame and meat bag, as well as several accessories, and I love it all. The most comfortable pack I've ever worn. The only complaint I have is, they don't have a large, overnight type system yet.
-
I have the guide pack and love it. Super quiet too!
-
I looked at them again Friday at the show in Portland I'm going to get one I'm just not sure which one. I'm thinking about the apex I think that's what its called. Its the pinnacle and guide pack combined.

The Apex is what I started with, great set up. Look into the pack frame also, most comfortable pack frame I've ever worn.

I don't see myself using the whole pack at once but its nice you can enter charge packs and use one that fits your needs that day.

I never use both bags at once. I use the one that makes the most sense for the hunt or the day. The versatility is unmatched. Being waterproof and quiet is real nice too.

I have their bino straps and bino covers and I also have their IA fire pack. If i was looking for a hunting pack i wouldnt hesitate buying one of theirs. I wore my IA pack probably 20 hours in my 40 hour work week sometimes 12 to 13 hours at time on a fire with at least 35lbs + 2 rolls of 1 1/2 hose on it. I love the wide lower back pad, fully adjustable in any way you can imagine, durable and held up great all summer long. A+ customer service to boot
-
I'm sold I will be buying the apex its just a matter of getting the bosses approval.
-
I have one of their packs used it for 2 years now. Only issue I have is the water bottle holder is a pain in the butt to get to...
-
If I would have bought it at the show last Friday when I was there it would have cost me about 330 bucks. If I duy it now its going to be over 400 with tax and shipping.

I believe the Yakima show is this weekend or maybe next. Perhaps you can still get the show price.
-
Its not that the show price is better its uf I got one last week at the show I wouldn't have to pay shipping or tax.
-
i have the bino stap and caddy and its amazing comfortable good camo and keeps binos safe and study even running. great product and comfortable and great customer service.
-
I ised to work with the owners kid we got them to pack our deployment gear tough and sturdy great gear bags!

Gosh, I guess I'll be the only nay-sayer...
Perhaps their hunting packs are a lot better than the wildland fire packs I used from them seven or so years ago... but they were TERRIBLY uncomfortable, and it seemed it took the entire fire season to finally figure out a way to make all the straps and adjustments even sort of work to your benefit. Large, meduim, and small-bodied frames all gave them either a neutral or a thumbs down as far as our crew's concensus. Perhaps they have come a long ways... and I do enjoy supporting local companies.. :dunno:
-
I'll go with you hirshey, I looked hem over at the sportsmans show and wasn't really impressed :twocents: I'll wait for the tenzing to hit the market :twocents:
-
They are day packs only, and a very comfortable pack frame. They don't make a pack for back country hunting. Thanks for the heads up on the fire gear, Hirshey, I was thinking about getting their setup for this season, guess I'll look around more. What fire web gear do you like?

If I recall correctly the nargear groper air ops is the bees knees... Super comfy, nice water bottle holders, plenty of packing space, solid construction... The list goes on. They are made by an ex-jumper... I think they even make non-fire packs but I haven't seen them anywhere yet.
-
I use their guide pack for my day pack and really like it.
7mag...check out True North Packs for fire. They are great packs sold by great folks!
Hirshey...do you still do fire? I am a DIVS on WA IMT Team 1
-
Thanks guys, I was trying to decide between True North and Nimrod. I was leaning toward Nimrod because I like my day pack and pack frame so much. I will check out Nargear, and give True North another look.

I have a couple of the Nimrod back scabards that I use for predator calling, best piece of gear I ever bought. Works well on skis, snow shoes, bike and just hiking in a long way for a stand.
