I wouldnt buy those lenses without IS..both dont have it

I use a Canon 70-200 f/4L non-IS, and I love it. It is one of canon's sharpest telephoto lenses, throughout its focal range. It's also really quiet. For someone who is looking into getting the best glass at a good price, I highly recommend this lens.
You can see samples on my photo site: www.seatimepics.com (http://www.seatimepics.com)
Most of my boating/sailing shots were taken with the non-is 70-200. I've never used the IS version, so I can't compare. I do know there are guys out there at the boat festivals with huge expensive lenses that can't shoot. I just do the best I can with my non-is, and recommend it to those who don't have lots of extra money.

70-200 f/4 L is a nice lens with and without IS. If you are on a budget the non IS version will work well until you can save the difference and get one with IS. This is the beauty of buying quality from the get go. Pick up a 70-200 non IS for $450 or so and play with it for a couple three months while saving another $450. Once you have saved up you can turn around and sell the non IS for the same $450 you originally purchased it for and get the IS version for about $900 or so, having not lost any money and still had a lens to shoot with. :twocents:
This was shot with a Canon 70-200mm f4 IS I picked up for $800
