I have seen them at safeway, they were native harvested. Up around $15 for a pound if I remember correctly

Seem's like I've heard of Costco getting them sometimes but I don't know when and I think they're Alaska clams, huge!!!! I've seen some of those Alaska ones still in the shell. They get up to 7 or 8 inches and more!!! :yike:

Thanks for the info guys, talked to a guy at work today he said some of the local seafood shops had them as well.

Did well. One good day of clamming in north of Oysterville. Nearly 2 limits (me and the 5 year old daughter).

The Quinaults sell them. In Aberdeen and Hoquiam you can get them at Swansons, not sure about Safeway or Top Food. Swanson's usually has them for about 8 or 9 bucks a lb. if I remember right. I'll check them next time I'm there. I'm sure they must market them elsewhere too.
The ones from Alaska come from Poly Creek (the only certified commercial beach in Alaska), which is on the west side of Cook Inlet. Most of the crews that used dig there were from the Grays Harbor area. A gal from Ocean Shores used to run the crew there.
