Title: Todays back yard visitors
Post by: PolarBear on February 12, 2012, 06:15:42 PM
These have been hanging around at my neighbors for a while but today they made the trek across the road to my place.  Hopefully the dude who lives on the other side of the timber wont poach them like he has in the past. (allegedly).

I'm up for adoption if you're looking for an adult child.

Only if you are a 20 year old female Swedish exchange student!

I can make Swedish meatballs. Not willing to dress the part, though. Some of the regulars and mods have warned me about you! :chuckle:

Man, I'd love to have elk in the yard. Actually, last early summer I had a 6 point bull come by within about 200 yards of the house. It is the only elk I've seen near this area in 4 1/2 years of being here. Even the local farmers I've talked to said they've NEVER seen an elk down there in all their lives!

Cool pics.

Nope. Closer to Rainier.  Haven't seen the bigger bull since I took that pic.  My wife called me the next night saying "your pet bull might be gone".  She heard 3 shots, 2 minutes apart at around 10:30 pm.   :bash:  Hopefully he is just in hiding and will show up again soon.

Call the WDFW and have them check it out.  Especially if you suspect your neighbor poached previously.

That's BS!  Odds are already bad enough for us.  Poaching makes it even harder!

I wish I had a local elk herd to look at.  I'd be bummed to find out the herd bull was killed illegally.

He knows, plus I am working on the case myself.  Might be another 10 points in the works.

Glad to see that bull again!  He was bedded down near my driveway in the pasture when I got home last night.  He had gone missing for a month and we had thought that the guy down the road had shot him.

Good news!  Maybe you will be the one to pick up his cast off antlers.

I'm hoping!  My wife said that he was back this evening and someone was parked at the end of my driveway checking him out.  She was getting ready to chase them off when they left on their own.   :chuckle:
