Jayrod9528: Thanks for posting up the rules. I will forward to them the rest of the info tonight when I get home.
Interest continues to grow for this event. Should be a good time. RedDirt may just raise the bar a little on this one :yike:

Team members can be 100 yards apart, so essentially, you can hunt "alone" with somone else.... ;)

So, after many emails and calls from possible entrants into the Classic, (and there has been a LOT) we have come to the conclusion that we will be passing out the mouth blocks to those of you that want to or need to register Friday night. We only ask that you follow Rule number three and that you not start hunting until legal time Saturday morning (12:00:01 ) and not "cheat" the system and start early. This is being done on the honor system and we hope that all entrants are honest and will abide by the rules. The reason for this is due to the wording of the rules. We will be making changes for next year. I hope everyone understands.
Entry requirements are as such. If you or a team member are currently not an Association member, and do not wish to become a year long member but wish to enter the Classic, you can get the "Hunt Membership" (as Membership is required for the hunt) for the Classic for only $25.00 per entrant. There is a reduced rate for minors and already existing Association members (Benefits of membership). Side pots and raffle expenses are at the entrants discretion.
If anyone has any questions as I know this is getting confusing, please get with me. Please remember this is our first attempt at this so we are learning as we go.
Thanks for every thing..
Randy

:) Sorry I misread the rules, "individules" can enter. I may come over.

It's going to be a good time for sure.

We have completed the Friday night registration with 14 teams signed up so far. Should be about the same amount Saturday morning (we hope). Looks like it is going to be a fun event. Lots of prize money floating in the side pots, good raffle prizes up for grabs still. Registration will continue in the morning starting at 4:30 a/m and continue until about mid morning or until the flow stops. You should be in the field by sunrise...
To all of you that have entered so far... GOOD LUCK

Results?

Randy, had a great time with the derby. I know I will be entering next year.
Thanks again.

Results?
It was a tough hunt due to the wind but with 18 teams I believe there were 17 dogs harvested and a tie for first it came down to tail length as a tie breaker. Although allot of us hoped for better results it was awesome to be at a event like that where there was no question of cheating or poor sportsman ship. All the people were saying they had a great time and would be back next year. I can't wait for next year! I think for a first time event it could not have gone better. Thanks Randy for all the work you put into this.

Got home this afternoon from a weekend at the Classic. Had a great time in spite of getting skunked! I blame it all on the wind. Met some people I only knew from this site and the WPHA site. Won some nice things in the raffle, including an RR Calls Elkhorn Howler made and donated by Rick. Sounds as good as it looks, too! The drive was worth it, and my team mate came from 100 miles farther. I'll do it again next year, too, God willing!
-
So how many yotes did the 2 teams in first have?
-
7 each.
-
I stopped by to check out the results. Even thow I didn't hint, it was exciting to watch the trucks roll in, to see who killed what.
What a great event & turn out. I'm glad I finally got to put some faces, to the names. It was good meeting everyone. I got luck at the raffle. Got me some great gifts.
Thanx for putting this on Randy.

Just got back to town, a 5 hr drive back to the wet side. I will be posting up the results of the Classic tomorrow with pictures. In a nut shell, we have a total of 19 teams entered. With those, only 5 brought in coyotes for the count due to high winds and tough conditions. There was a tie for the first two spot with 7 each but was broke by a 19"tail measurement. Third was 2 dogs and singles for the rest. We gave out many good Raffle items which I will post up as well.
It was a good event for our first attempt so we look for a bigger and better event next year. I want to thank all of the participants for making it such a success.
SO again until tomorrow... THANKS FOR EVERYTHING..to all who helped coordinate it as well...
