I have a 16.5 ft duck boat and want to fish the lings in westport. Doe's the water get bad on the inner side of the wall and has anyone fished it? Will this boat be ok?

Are you talking about the jetty? I have fished off of the North side of the South jetty in my 18' flat bottom before and have done quite well. Just make sure that the wind and swell is coming from the South or it can get pretty lumpy. Remember to bring a good anchor in case things go wrong. It can keep you from winding up in the rocks.

I have seen smaller boats in there but you have to watch the weather and the tides to know what the water is going to do. But it can be good fishing if you got the right gear. ;)

You can drive down to chicken point and look right at the south jetty from by the coast guard tower and see what the water looks like some of the best fishing is out from the fog horn about a third of the way out on the jetty. We fish at night just before high water with a lantern right where the charters leave the basin and use rubber worms for bass. Ready for you Tony.
