Bought a Lamiglas Hot Shot Magnum rod for plugging in January. Used it about three times (caught one first trip out) & then broke the tip off (in the back of my pickup of course).
Went to Lamiglas in Woodland not really expecting a free exchange, but ten minutes later walked out with a new rod - No Charge.
Excellent rod & you gotta love that service.

Lamiglas can't be beat for customer service! They make killer rods as well. I have 3 of them right now and love all of them. They know every single break out there. If you are hinest with them, even if it's you fault. 90% of the time they will replace it. Most people break it and then lie and say it broke fishing. Then they won't give them a new rod. If you are hinest with them they will take care of you :tup:

Yes they have a great warranty, but their rods break way too often..... I blew several up in AK on Kings, granted they replaced them, but they broke rather easily...

:tup: Lamiglas is a great company, most of the negative talk about them on the internet is not factual, just rumors and hearsay. I've yet to have a bad experience with Lamiglas and yet to break one as well...

I have no rumors or hearsay about the three I broke... They went tight, then went snap, easy as that. And without any rumor mill to work the story into something it wasn't... :tup: Granted - exceptional return policy for sure, when you could go to the store that sold them for replacement... (B&J Commercial on Arctic Street)
I would say I fished a little more than I should have up in AK and about 50 times more than here. I had alot of time off in the summers (10 years worth) and chased the Reds and Silvers (hence the name Cohoho) around on different rivers as much as I could... One summer in 2003 I had from May to Oct off and did nothing but fish 7 days a week.. Might have caught a few fish during that time frame and broke a few rods, simple as that.
Not a a huge fan of Lamiglas due to those reasons- they broke when they shouldn't have, got a couple left that seem fine for the fishing here.... :chuckle: :chuckle:
Last statement was a joke for those that are sensitive to salmon fishing in Washington being the best! :chuckle: :chuckle:

I dont have anything really against them either but ive had one go tight then snap too... like exploded. Good service though but im not rushing go buy more. cohoho what do you mainly run?

i've owned around a dozen lamis over the years, i busted one 2 years ago(my fault, slipped and fell on top of it) and i paid for that one. didn't mind, $50 is better than buying a new rod. the few other minor issues i've had have always been taken care of quickly and for free(loose guide inserts, had a reel seat come loose, etc).
a lot of guys seem to see the "lifetime warranty" and not read the fine print. they'll always fix something due to their own workmanship(like my reel seat coming unglued), but a defective blank will almost always break soon after you start using it.

i have had a 8-17 certified pro that i have caught a lot of fish with over the last twelve years and have yet to have a problem with it yet. not trying to make this a rod comparison but wish i could say that about my loomis that i have fished for the last 4-5 years.

Certain rods are bullet proof, but they have a few that must give them headaches as frequent breakers. I took in two rods to Lamiglas last year. One snapped they replaced for free. One was stepped on and broken, so I had to pay to have it fixed.

With this thread I just wanted to give kudos to Lamiglas. I don't really want to prolong it but here again I broke the rod in my vehicle & they still replaced it.
Compared to a G. Loomis rod I broke twice. Each time they replaced it for $50, now I've got a rod that I paid $300 for but now have $400 invested in it. Each time it broke while casting & of course the story is "yeah, but you hung up some time prior to that & weakened it". Well maybe or maybe the rod is just to weak for normal stealhead fishing.
All I know is I broke the Lamiglas rod through mishandling & they replaced it.

I had a Lamiglass break on me also. They fixed it for $10 shipping cost. I broke my Loomis and they charged me $110 for a brand new one. I'm happy with both but my Loomis rods get a much heavier work out. I use my Loomis rods for light tackle Sturgeon fishing and my Lami only gets used for steelhead, triploids and walleye.

Snapaglass they are great rods great and folks I just took in a rod I had from before their warranty was lifetime and they gave me 60% off a new keni kwik now I just have to explain to my wife that was to good of a deal to pass up and our family will have fun more springer fishing with it than we would have with the older new rods I have.
