Finally have the funds to buy my vx3l 4.5-14x50 cds scope, but can save a ton of money buying off ebay. If I buy before april 1 leupold will give an extra cds dial for free with a receipt from a store. Has anybody bought a high end scope off ebay?

Be sure you are working with a reputable dealer as there are some counterfit Leupolds floating around out there. Also Leupold has a set pricing for their dealers so finding discounted NEW Leupolds is difficult.

+1. China has been so bad to Leupold that they have a section on their website on how to spot them. caveat emptor.

I'd be leery of Ebay for anything high-dollar. I buy my scopes from Natchez Shooters Supplies' www.natchezss.com ...
They have good prices and selection on scopes and other stuff. They carry Leupold, but I've bought Nikon and Burris scopes from them.

I have bought Nikon and Leupold from eBay just make sure to use PayPal or credit card to pay. If the item is not as described you can get a refund from eBay, PayPal or your credit card company. I always make sure to look at feedback along with contacting the seller before bidding..

I have bought a few Nikon scopes off ebay at great prices. But check the feedback for one and for me I only by new in the box. I wont mess with used. But that is just me and for sure use paypal.

I bought a new nikon M-223 off ebay when they first came out. i checked the sekkers history and feedback and received the scope as advertised for cheaper than i could find anywhere else. like others said use paypal and check alot of their feedback. if theres even a doubt it might be a fake dont bother finding out the hard way.

I bought a Nikon at a good price on eBay, like others said look for someone with great feedback if you do buy there. Last Leupold I bought was from PredatorOptics.com it was awhile ago but they had good prices then. Good luck!
