Has anybody tried the WGRS model of muzzleloader peep sight on their Bighorn? I like the sleek profile and wasn't sure if the model 51096 (fits wolverine) would work? The customer service rep didn't give me too much confidence in their answer. Is the other williams peep sight mentioned better than the WGRS?
thanks

When you call williams up talk to steve. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to sights for the knights.

i don't have that model, but i do have the FP type that's been mentioned in several threads. in reality i'll probably never need that much windage/elevation adjustment that it provides but i do like the idea. i did have to notch the left hand side of the stock to be able to clear the elevation adjustment slide.

The wgrs legand will fit the bighorn. I just put 2 of them on our bighorns.

Great, I will be giving it a try then.
thanks

Just so you know the Williams FP will work on a Big Horn and for me is much more to my liking than is the WGRS.

The FP peep provides 1/4 minute clicks - so it is just like adjusting a scope. I prefer this to the slide and glide type sights.

Randy F - which holes on the Bighorn receiver did you use to mount the WGRS? I have a WGRS sitting in the bubble pack on the work bench. Thanks John

I put them in the last 2 holes on the rear of the gun. I test fitted them then used a small drop of loctite when I put them on for good. We took them out 2 weeks ago and they worked great

Just askin', but why would anyone choose to use a Williams peep sight when they have the option (Washington and Oregon) to use a fibre optic ghost ring?
-
better accuracy with a peep site, imho. you can always unscrew the aperture and use it as a ghost ring site, though...

Yep! I like the accuracy and I do un-screw the apeture early morning low light and evening..

Thanks RandyF - test fit per your location, looks good. I did buy a twilight aperture as well for low light conditions. Williams recommends the extended length aperture for the WGRS peep but the regular length seems to work better for me. I have a fire hood w/.375n red fire sight on the front end. I have only bore sighted but all looks a go at this point. I'm not used to MLs so I adjusted the peep to 2" high at 25' hoping to on the paper at 50 yards? 300 grain Speer .45 curl with 100 grains T7-3f. Now just some dry weather and away we go.
