The way I understand the regulations are that if me and my two sons (both under 14) go fishing, and as long as they are doing the vast majority of the fishing (they may need my help a bit), then they should be able to catch a limit on their own, right? So, if we are fishing a lake that has a limit of 5 rainbows per person, then we could take home 15, correct?
Some people have recently told me that my boys' catch must be under my limit, so just 5. I dont think this is correct.
I searched the regs and it does not define this well. Can anyone point me to the literature (if any) where it clarifies this?

In some states, unless a youth has purchased their own license, their limit is part of the adult's limit, but not here.

At one time, a long, long time ago in a land that cared about the outdoorsmen,, the daily limit on trout was 12 or 6 pounds plus 1 fish, and the juvenile limit was 6 or 3 pounds plus 1 fish. A juvenile was a person under the age of 16. Oh yeah,,and there was a 6"min. size limit.
Today,,in the land that cares nothing of the outdoorsmen except to find fault,, your kids limit in most lakes are the same as yours is.. So the answer to your question about the limit is if the juvenile limit is the same as the adults (5) yes y'all and keep 15.. Remember to bring your lawyer along with you..

Youth can posess their own limit of shellfish as well.,,,,,Spot shrimp starts up soon! :drool:
:tup: The boy gets to miss school on those days! We're still eating them from last year but can't wait for the new season.

Yes, i think i just adopted your thought! LOL I have 3 kids that will be missing school,,to fill the freezer! :tup:
