I enjoy reading peoples stories and its that time of the year where there isn't anything new and I thought what the hell.. :tup..
2011 Bowhunting the wetside, my partners and I have hunted the same general area for several years now and have fared pretty well, this particular hunt was pretty funny and action packed.. Aaron my partner the one who stuck this bull could only hunt the weekend so i decided to hunt with him on this sunday, we started up the MT well before dark, and I have been there all week and was kinda telling him what to expect and how the animals been talking and how the rut activity has been going, however we were going to our ace in the whole spot where I have called several bulls in for him, so he didn't care much for what I had to say.. I then told him well sense I am usually calling and have got you 2 bulls in the last couple years I think it is my turn to get 1st shot, I smiled at him, he smiled back and said that cool man.. I was kidding with him but i wanted to finally get some shootin in cause i am usually behind the horn.. just as we were a half way up the MT we stopped to take a pis, that is vital to the next part of this story.. An hour later we get to the top of the MT and I give out a soft locate and sure enough we get one fired up right off the bat, I look at Aaron and say "game time".. I look at my bow and get ready and thought son of a biatch... Aaron said what?? Looks like your shooting Aaron I dropped my release where I took a piss.. He smiled and said looks like i get 1st shot huh!.. I smiled and said lets go kill this bull, I can tell he is excited as hell, we cut the distance and the bull is just playing the game to a Tee, he is answering every call. so we creep in to where I think its close enough and we dive into the thick stuff, and i thought crap this may be a little to thick, 5-10 yard shot at the furthest, we were pinned down at this time now cause we heard the brush start to erupt, I told Aaron when i say draw, draw cause he is coming right at me, I seen tan breaking through the wall of chit at 20 yards, then 15 yards, then 10 yards I say draw, Aaron draws, now at 5 yards broadside and whack... He didn't even know what hit him, he ran 5 steps and stood there wondering what the eff, I whisper knock another and whack him again, he does and I'm trying not to laugh from the expression on Aaron's face and he couldn't get the aarow knocked from the shacking & excitment, he gets it knocked and the elk is still standing there 12 yards, whack perfect shot again and he takes off this time with a little hobble, I look at Aaron with a smile and I started laughing and said Chit, that happend fast.. He is just glowing cause he just shot his 3rd bull in a row all on the same MT.. We gave it a little time, and called our other buddy to bring up the pack boards.. It was dead 20yards from where he shot it.. That was Sunday we were suppose to go home that day, and I said boys things are getting good, I am staying another day!... To be continued.. :archery_smiley:

So we were pumped about Aaron's bull it was Sunday so we semi broke camp cause my 2 hunting partners had to take off for home, so i was tired from Aarons elk so I decided to sit around camp for the rest of the day and get drunk and celebrate that cool hunt & I decided to hunt 1 more day.. I woke up well before light and went in deep to another good spot we have had in the past and I get to the spot just about day break. I start to side hill this drainage and I look across and see this biggest dam bear i have ever seen.. I was kinda of in awe and obviously was thinking how can i kill that thing... However I notice some elk at the bottom of the drainage feeding up.. I stare at the big ass black bear for a few minutes and just could believe how fat that thing was i decide I better go check these elk out since i was Elk huntin... I creep down the drainage about a 126 yrds from the elk exactly "range finder" and I see a legal bull feeding, "they didnt even know i was there" so i kinda think well chit, i bet if i sneak to that stump i can probably get a shot at that bull.. so i sneak to that stump, range find it 48 yrds broadside, thinking that is kind of a long shot but it was wide open, it didnt know i was there, " this is to easy i was thinkin".. so i pull up stare through my peep and shot that biatch.. looked like a good shot, he ran about 15 yrds and stood there for 20 minutes, I seen the blood just shootin out its side, Im thinking this is cool, he still doesnt know whats going on.. 25 minutes go by and he hasnt moved a inch, then i am just thinking " go to the light you elk, go to the light and die".. Then out of nowhere he piled up and did the death roll down to the bottom of the drainage to the creek, and it was thiiiiiick.. I thought *censored*, that was the fist time i put the stalk on a bull and killed it... I was by myself a few miles in a crap whole so i called my dad and buddy and they came and helped me pack that thing out.. pretty cool way to end the season, we got 2 in 2 days.. staying an extra day pays off sometimes.. Not big bulls by any means, but legal bulls are legal bulls...

Haha, Ya Coug it was a slow day, I was office bound all day... If it is the same today, I may even write up a deer story today from our Eastside hunt.. Dont usually write, but the off season is always fun to read new stories on here... Thanks hunting buddies, i know there little bulls but I cant pass up legal bulls on the wetside bow hunting general.. And all most of the bulls i called in last year were with Phelps Game Calls... FYI.. Its a good one, wouldnt say it if i didnt believe it... There you go Jason.. ;)

Its pretty easy actually there muley, find the *censored*ttiest crap whole that holds elk, dive into it and start blowing a call and then start flingin aarows... :chuckle:.. No, the westside is a brush pit in the elk woods where we hunt, it isnt that easy, even though sometimes it is when the elk play the game, then its a nightmare getting them out. :bash: I wouldnt say that, But i do know you got it figured out in your country there my friend..  Aaron and I still have something we want to send ya.. We well get it mailed over shortly..
Jason, i could feel your voodoo wanting a plug... :chuckle:.. No you make a good call, i was sold on it last year thats for sure.. Just give that call a few toots and you never no whats going to come in, a elk, a coyote, bear, beaver, odders, whisle pigs, porky pines that dam call well call everything in.. :chuckle:
