Title: First gun purchase..
Post by: 87Ford on March 15, 2012, 05:21:03 PM
..using GunBroker.  I've bought guns online before, but this was the first time on Gunbroker.  I'd been looking for a nice left hand 1100 for my wife for some time and finally came across this one.  Really nice condition and low miles.  Nice lefty 1100's are kinda hard to find.  Anyway, It was a good GB experience aside from paying the Wash State Use tax..

My dad has that same gun, lefthanded also, and I have a matching righthanded one for myself. Those 1100's are great guns. Looks like that one is in great condition.

Nice gun.  Have bought several off of Gun Broker without any problems.  I would imagine that one would be hard to find.  Nice that you found it.

Yeah, the new use tax sucks.  Some day they'll be taxing the air we breathe.   :bash:

Is it choked? I just come across the Carlson's web site. For around 120.00 they will machine the barrel and give you a set of 3 chokes. Not to bad I had to pay 200.00 for a new remington 30" steel barrel for my 1100 3" Mag. Love these shot guns.

The barrel on this gun is 26" with a fixed IC choke.  This is actually her second left hand 1100.  Her other one is a trap model with a custom stock from Wenig's.  This new gun is for pheasant hunting so I figure she'll be fine with an IC.
