Ok all you trail cam veteran's, what is the best way to get animals to stop for a minute so you can get some pics? Ideas, what has worked best for you guys?

#1 tip I can give is point the cam down the trail and not across it, that way the cam has time to trigger, either that or get a cam with a fast trigger speed. I haven't had any luck with bait, they ignore my mineral blocks and cob and all feed.

Red salt block. That works best for me. They last a long time and everything stops by long enough for a few pics. Deer, Elk, Bears and Moose.......oh....and Border Patrol on horseback. :chuckle:

Alot of people use bait. I don't because it is a pain the butt to pack it out. I point my cameras down the trail like Smith said. I also look for spots along the trail where thre is several piles of chit. It seems like these places are right after an obstacle. Another place is a quick rise in elevation (old wore down stump or log). I think that they use that elevation to check thier back trail.
This works for me with Blacktail.
