Just wondering where all of you rifle hunters go for this hunt? So I don't go there of course. :chuckle: I will be joining my lady to find her a big bull. We might hunt down south or since I live out by the peninsula we might head north out by forks. Anyone on here kill good west side bulls for the modern season?

Technically I havenot hunted biggame in WA yet (Though I just bought my tags :IBCOOL:)
I actually went scouting and found deer and elk (https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smileyvault.com%2Falbums%2Fforum%2Fsmileyvault-censored.gif&hash=2e1e0387066ef304e25024d443d5443140962338) (http://www.smileyvault.com/) all over the place. I tried to be careful but I ended up stepping in it anyway...
So I saw a pile that looked particularly fresh and I had stopped for just a second to look, when I heard a thrashing and I look up to see the backend of a blacktail jumping from the brush into the trees.
Well anyway further up the road I got into some wet grassy area and saw a ton of footprints, and more (https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smileyvault.com%2Falbums%2Fforum%2Fsmileyvault-censored.gif&hash=2e1e0387066ef304e25024d443d5443140962338) (http://www.smileyvault.com/)

If it gives you any indication, my 10 year old son is forgoing modern elk this year and probably next (his own decision. I'd take him if he wanted to go) because he flat refuses to hunt modern elk in Western Washington. Too many jackholes out there. He's waiting until he can pull a heavy enough bow to go bow hunting

I bet there are a bunch of jack holes but I get off the roads. So I won't be seeing
Them but I will be finding her a bull on the west side during modern. Nassell is a lock so is the coast on the peninsula I know where elk are less jackholes would be nice but that's what we get she can't kill em if she doesn't hunt so we will be going good luck to all jackholes afield.

No Elk in Naselle !! :chuckle:
Those farms are hit and miss, be there for a few days, then gone for a few weeks.. good luck !
I have a guy that lets me hunt his property, but the WDFW comes by and razes the elk before season (MF) to get them off his property, he hates that !!
Mostly complains that they wont give him some of those shotgun-m80 rounds they use, as he wants the elk off his land when they are causing damage year round, but the WDFW only comes by once a year.
Hunting has little to no impact, as they are usually there during spring and summer when stuff is growing.
