Seems like a lot of wolf stuff planned as well as the hunting regulation changes.
-
I see that the eliminating the east/west side elk tag is still on the table.

No, I don't believe it is.
The proposals you're looking at are from a couple of months ago. The proposed night hunting rules are still there too, and those aren't being considered either.
-
Thats what I was wondering because of what I was seeing on the website.

This is from the summary of the Commissioner's meeting in March:
Policy Issue(s) you are bringing to the Commission for consideration:
• Continue sustainable hunting seasons for elk.
• Adjust elk special permits in response to elk population changes and damage complaints.
• Retain the elk special permit system as it currently functions. The issue of eliminating the
eastside/westside restriction on special permit applications was evenly split among the elk
hunting public. The Department is not recommending this change.
• Manage for more elk in the northeast (Selkirk elk herd).
-
A few things were changed or removed from the proposed changes. Fall bear season will remain unchanged (good news for us in South Cascades). No changes to night hunting and a few others.

Really? They revised the proposals? Do you have a link to the revised version?

No I listened to the meetings from a couple weeks ago. They discussed the changes there but they never revised the proposed changes on the site.
You can listen to the meeting here but it will take a whole day. :chuckle:

Anyone planning on going when they pass the new proposals?
