On your own property, thats cool!

You might try something other then 90 degrees to the trail though. Looks like your cam needs a little more time for critters that close and I know I'd like to see more of what you're getting.  :)

Good luck

Nice! How did the camera hold up after that elk had his way?

The rub on the tree is from a bear that been trying to get on camera for a while now. The crazy part is that exact spot on that tree is where the camera had been sitting for a couple months. I took it down for about a week, I went to put back out and about soiled myself when I saw that. the other side of the tree you can see the claw marks. There has been a bear marking trees back there for a long time  there are alot of trees with old marks on them. As for the trail it turns right in front of the camera, but the elk just walk straight through the bushes. That was the only picture i got of that bull. The neighbor told me there was 4 bulls in the field next to me but I only got the one shot. I have since moved the camera to another spot. The other morning I was out there and I had my to labs with me and the 1 year old chased 2 bucks into the woods. One was a mature 3 point. I was stoked to see them but bummed aswell because I know those 2 won't be back for awhile.  I will be building a fence soon to keep the dogs out of the woods.
