Title: DIY Soft Plastics for fishing
Post by: robodad on April 12, 2012, 09:06:42 PM
Anyone here make their own scampi's or any soft plastics for that matter, I am looking for the ratio of the plastisol to hardener ratio that makes strong rubber but still really rubbery if you know what I mean, I'm ending up with a tough tail thats kind of stiff !!

There is a little chartreuse in all of them, makes them floress in salt water !! I am just experimenting right now with 1/2 cup batches to get the right formula before I make a bunch of them, what I'm after is the motor oil color that turns green in salt water, I think I'm almost there if I can get the rubber to me more rubbery but still really durable  LOL !!

Man I hate that when the tail is stiff and tough.

I have a couple of buddies that make their own plastics, I will try and get a hold of them and get some info for you.
