Here is a stone that I have been saving for awhile. I started work on it a few weeks back then I pissed myself off after I put a few flaws on it. SO I had to leave it a lone for awhile so I could calm down :chuckle: Well here she is all finished up. Only ended up with a few small flaws. Not my best knapping but the stones color covers it up very well. This is a a piece of rainbow obsidian. It has the best color that I have seen so far. The color really stands out nice!!!
Just wanted to share

Thanks Doug. This is the knife blade that I posted about in your looking for materials thread.

I figured so. I had almost the perfect head the other night. ONE MORE CHIP.......snappppppppppppp You can figure out the rest. I've been working with some petrified/agatized wood. VERY FRAGILE. If I ever get one it will be beautiful.
Are you using mostly your billet or do you chip with the staff and nail....(not sure what the official term is)

Nice work!!! I've been trying to make one with borosilicate glass on a large torch. I need to put a handle on one and I'll post a pic. They are not knapped. Your obsidian inspires me to mess with it some more I get pissed w flaws quick too and just put it away till I can take my time. Thanks for sharing.
