If you drive through Acme and Vandzant in the summer you can see them feeding in the fields off hwy 9. Lots of private property in that valley. If one was to get permission to hunt along the river, he might have a chance of seeing one.
Alot of guys do hunt the logging unit north of mosquito lake rd within the boundary . I've hunted it too, but never seen any elk just deer, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. :dunno:
