Anything to be afraid of? I know there are a few guys that will only own Noveske or DD or something, but I'm talking lower $$ guns here... Do you like your DPMS?
The local store has a used one with the A2 and a 24" bull barrel. There's no "buyer beware" policy, so if I dont like it, I guess I can take it back... in looks, it mimics the stag I want to buy for $1055, but this gun is priced at $789. It LOOKS new...
It IS a 1/9 twist... so it wouldn't be as good as the stag's 1/8 for longer heavier pills.... but shoot... well... I dont know! :dunno:
Thoughts?

I have 2 low cost AR's.. One DPMS oracle 5.56, and a Olympic Arms k-16 Stainless. I like both of them. I have shot plenty of "higher end" AR's, and M-16s and M-4s while I was active duty. I dont see the need to overspend on an AR when most of them are built to the exact same specs. Both of my low end AR's work exceptionally well. The Oly is a little better built with tighter tolerances, but I think thats because the upper and lower are a matched pair. I actually sold the DPMS upper, and I am waiting on DS arms to send me the replacement I ordered. If I would have realized how much of a pita it is to deal with DSA, then I wouldnt have sold the dpms upper. I just wanted the chrome lined bore, and the preban set up with bayo lug. Hopefully they hurry and send me one. I wouldnt trade my Oly for either one of my friends bushmasters.
Now I do believe some out there are worth the extra money. Like piston gas systems are cool because they run cleaner. For a standard DI gas AR though, nothing wrong with spending less money.

They all shoot well as long as you keep 'em clean and oiled.

My dpms barreled AR is extremely accurate, it too is a 24" SS bull barrel. I have zero complaints! Mine has a particular fondness for 55gr remington bullets and 62gr brown bear hp's.

There is nothing wrong with the DPMS. I was looking at buying one myself but I ended up with a Rock River Varmint A4. Simply because DPMS only has a 3 year warantee and Rock River has a lifetime warantee, I like a company that stands behind thier products.

im running a DPMS lower with an h-bar upper. no hiccups.

My wife has a dpms panther and it works very well for her she prefers it over her m4 but her dpms has all the bells and wistles and it's set up how she wants it not how the army says it can be

DPMS/BUSHMASTER/REMINGTON are all sister compaines. I have had a few dpms rifles and they have all been good.

I have a DPMS Panther in .204 and love it.

If I can get that gun for a few bucks less than they are asking I may go for it...

Take cash and haggle. I basically have a panther, built on a off brand lower and love it. Shooting 1moa with a dot sight, with a scope I bet I could do even better. I have the flat top, but wish I had A2 style upper so I could do CMP.

Most of them you can play with them on price. Check the barrel good and make sure it is not shot to crap. Either with a bore light or pull the bolt and look threw the barrel at a light.

I own the DPMS Sweet 16. Great shooting rifle.

Absolutely nothing wrong with DPMS. I have a 223 Panther and with 69gra smk it shoots great.
