Title: Paterson Slough?
Post by: hunt_fish on May 09, 2012, 02:24:05 PM
I was wondering if anyone knew how the fishing is at Paterson Slough or the ponds around there and if there's good shore access to decent fishing spots there.  Also if they're good for bass, perch, or crappie?  I've never tried fishing it yet but read about it in one of the magazines from a couple years ago.  I might try trekking down there if my coworker and I don't end up going up to Potholes for walleye in 2 weeks.  Thanks for any replies!

Crappie are almost gone. It's not worth targeting them. Bass fishing is good and can be good from the bank but watch out for rattlers. It seems there are tournaments almost every weekend now so you might have some competetion. The shallower backwaters will have fish on beds so chances of big ones are decent. Potholes would probably be a safer bet to just have a good time.
