I checked out the e-caller section at Cabelas this weekend and was totally overwhelmed. They had everything from a $50 unit to over $500. What is a good e-caller for the money? I’d like something that sounds realistic, is easy to use, good battery life or better yet, rechargeable. Any of them that I should avoid?
I’m a total novice to these devices, any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I have a Fox-pro fx3. I like it, it has good volume, the remote works a long ways away. You want to get one with rechargeable batteries. I bought mine from Allpredators.com they are one of the biggest call sellers going. When you buy from them you can have them program the calls you want, instead of buying one preprogramed off the shelf at a store and get a bunch of calls you won't use. E-callers are great, but there is still a heck of a learning curve. Especially over here on the wet side with all our brush. Good luck

FF4607 has a Fox Pro, and it is nice. I would choose a Fox Pro if I ever get tired of using mouth calls.

go to the foxpro site read about them and look at the models, there is a forum also, used and refurbished for sale you can listen to the sounds too.

FoxPro Firestorm is a good one. You get most of the bells and whistles of the more expensive callers and a lower price. They are crazy expensive though. (All FoxPros)

I almost got mine from AllPredatorCalls.com but I found that in comparing the sound librarys from the official foxpro site and the one on allpredatorcalls.com a bunch of free download ones from FP was part of the sound library on APC
So - I'd figure out what sounds you want from foxpro site and not include the free ones on APC so you arn't paying for sounds you could get for free.
Also, check the refurbished ones on foxpro site, save you a few bucks! https://www.gofoxpro.com/JLiStore/getprod.php?prodby=cat&cat=13&sort=price_asc (https://www.gofoxpro.com/JLiStore/getprod.php?prodby=cat&cat=13&sort=price_asc)
Also, keep in mind you'll want to later on add on an aux speaker to get your sound out unless you get the CS24B or Krakatoa they are pretty loud.
You could go with a scorpian xib off ebay or something and just plan to add on a speak later on too https://www.gofoxpro.com/JLiStore/getprod.php?prodby=cat&cat=7&sort=price_asc (https://www.gofoxpro.com/JLiStore/getprod.php?prodby=cat&cat=7&sort=price_asc)

Its missing a few things the newer ones have.
I'm just getting started with Ecallers, just picked up a new CS24B and jack in the box. I wish I'd have gotten the smaller decoy though the jack attack. There are some really neat bags made by http://www.yotersden.com/DEPLOYMENT_BAGS.php (http://www.yotersden.com/DEPLOYMENT_BAGS.php) that you can put the caller inside the bag and have it protected and have a rod to screw the decoy too on top for one nice small package. Now I gotta carry more having that jack in the box and CS24b.

Foxpro is the way to go!!! I run a fury and have run a few others. They are a great company to work with and make a great caller.

Which Foxpro?
I've found the Spitfire for $149.99 with free shipping. Any good?

Sounds like a good deal to me. It's all about what you want and how much you want to spend. Some other models have more features, but they will cost you.

Like everbody else has said, Foxpro. Get the whichever one you can afford. You can (or could) get and FX5 and then add an external speaker if you find you need more volume. Haven't checked the Foxpro site for awhile to see if this is still an option. Also, if anything ever goes wrong with your Foxpro their customer service is AWESOME!!
