Just a reminder from Southwest Washington. Today is May 18. Thirty-two years ago Mount St. Helens erupted, killing 57 people, and blasting 234 square miles of forests and rivers. When to Johnston Ridge this morning. It's a tradition to go up there on the free day and to remember how beautiful the area was, how much it meant to us, and to see that yes, it is recovering. Sad to see that a big chunk of the Margaret is now posted "no trespassing" since Weyerhaeuser sold it.
The debate about Park vs. Forest Service continues. http://tdn.com/news/opinion/managing-a-monument-is-no-walk-in-the-park/article_6de02d1c-a06c-11e1-8392-0019bb2963f4.html
