So friday I bought a Gem-Tech trek suppressor for my AR-15 :IBCOOL: Gem-Tech's website ( and the guy i bought from) says it can be used on .22lr, .17hmr, .22/250, and .223. My question is has anyone used this suppressor on these calibers? Is it worth getting my barrels threaded. Thanks Allen
Doesn't get any better than Gem-Tech when it comes to suppressors, now you just have the 6-10 month wait. :o

That's what ive heard about Gem-Tech. The place I bought it from said 5 to 7 months. Said he's got a couple stamps back in less than 3 months (i wish). Pretty sure i'm going to get the barrels threaded. I know the right way is probely a dedicated suppressor for each caliber but :yike: $$$

Here you go, add $200.00 for the "Stamp" and then the paper work fee. I don't know if Gem-Tech charges a fee. I have never purchased directly through them.

That's the gun that I shot one on. The suppressor was made/bought in Bonners Ferry. He paid $175 + the stamp.

I use a 30 cal can on everything from a 22-250 to 308's. I don't own a 300WM, but I have used the same can on multiple 7 Magnums or various sorts. 338 can goes on the Ultramags and up.
Campmeat, it depends on which surefire brake you have. They have one that is meant to be a mount for their suppressor, and although under it is still 5/8x24 thread, its not enough should to really support a standard suppressor well. The bull barrel one is a piece of cake, thread it and go.

The 223 cans work well on the all that you have listed with a an exception. Most of them are a little small volume wise for the 22-250's. A 30cal can works better on them from what I have found. A 223 can on a 22lr is way overkill, but it works.

is the .223 can just not as effective on 22-250? I know its over kill for a .22 but it will work till I get a dedicated .22 can

Correct, not enough volume for the 22-250. It will work, but its not going to get the noise dampening of a larger volume can would.Well i guess i wil have to save up for a .308 can. Which means now I need a .308 to go with it :chuckle:
