well my grandpa has some property over in north dakota that has been handed down to him through the family so i was talking to him about we should go hunt it and he was telling me all about the deer he use to get when he was a kid and stuff. well he had a couple pictures he wanted to show me so i went over there and they were pictures of deer he has shot over there :o they were some nice bucks from what i could tell in the old black and whites. so after talking about it for a while we decided to put in for tags........... im really excited to go but the odds are not in my favor for the lottery drawing... only 21 tags

What area is the property in? I'm assuming you guys applied for rifle tags?
-
I'm pretty certain that bow tags are very easy to get. The Rifle draw can be one of the toughest in the nation for whitetail.
-
That is pretty cool to hunt land that has been in the family for a long time. Who knows what you will find...

its in unit 3e2 and yes rifle tags is what we put in for. ya im very excited to go it should be alot of fun even if i dont get drawn im still gonna go because my grandpa will have a tag go along just to "guide" or something like that lol

I put in for ND this year for the first time with my wife and buddy. I might just buy an over the counter bow tag when we don't get drawn because how can you go wrong for $220?
Good luck to all who put in!

North Dakota by law can only give 1% of its tags for any given area to non-residents. If the area you are putting in for is allowing 400 permits than as soon as 4 non-residents get drawn no more can get tags. If you put in for an area that has less than 100 permits than no non-residents can hunt it. They are very resident friendly and one of the worst for non-residents. Bow hunting is different and a lot easier to get but rifle is extremely tough for non-residents. Its my 5th year putting in for 4D mule deer buck and I am sure I have many more years ahead of me. One nice thing is that ND cubes your points after 5 years so once you hit that many points your odds go up quickly

What part of ND is 3e2

i was wondering if u guys knew when the lottery tags for nd are supose to be out?
and if u know how to check online?

3e2 is the south side of I-94 Southwest of Mandan, North and East of Carson.
Does your Grandpa live back there? Opening day is an EVENT in NoDak.
-
my Dad is from Walhalla and my uncle still lives there and my other uncle is in Cavalier. Have never hunted back there but my uncle tells us to come back and shoot snow's all the time.

I worked in ND for a couple years, while I was there I saw some real good bucks but never had a license. One of the guys I worked with who was a resident killed a B&C non-typical Mule Deer with his bow. There are some real nice whitetail there too. Good luck.

Good luck with the tag over there! While the draw tags are tough for non-residents to come by, a $220 OTC non-res archery tag is a real deal if you have access to property...
