Title: First Spring Bear
Post by: EyeGuard on June 01, 2012, 06:32:36 PM
Second trip into the wilderness.  Unfortunately the hide was rubbed pretty bad.  Great adventure and I learned a ton.  Packs get real heavy when full of meat and horns thank god for good friends.

Great job what unit did you get that bear in, and what style did you use to harvest that big bear?

I guess the technique was "spot and stock" but it was more like spot and shoot it from a long ways away.  The unit was a spring bear unit  :)

Thats a pretty colored Bear.  Was it the face that was rubbed or the body to?  Looks like it would have made an ok Soft Tan.

Holly "Monkey Face" he was rubbed. I've taken in 100+ bears over the years and only one that had a rubbed face like that. They are pretty cool looking I think. Nice weekend for sure! Congrats!
