Savage axis 22-250. Came with a scope but I don't want it. What kind of scope should I put on it? Something not too expensive. I'll need to buy a bipod. Anyone know of anywhere I could order a different stock for it? Is.like one with a thumb hole. Anything else I should look into just let me know!

Vortex scopes have a growing reputation, and I know a lot of guys like em.

For a bench gun a thumbhole works but for a hunting bolt action it can be kind of a pain in the butt to work the bolt and tang safety with a thumbhole.
Scope selection depends allot on what your going to use the rifle for. Calling coyotes a nice 2.5x10 or 3x9 would be handy but I prefer a 1.5x6 or 2x7. If your just shooting targets of opportunity a 4x16 wouldn't be out of the question. Sage rats, Pd's or rock chucks even a 6.5x20 would work well.
Camara land has 6.5x20 Vortex vipers at $279, they have the same scope in 2x7 for $199. Natchez has some good prices on Burris FF-II 2x7's. Weaver has some really nice scopes in the V-9 and V-16. Redfields are good also.

vortex makes a good scope. I have a 4X16 Viper PST. A little spendy but well worth it. Its on a savage model 12 LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor. Fun setup!!! Have fun with your savage. 22-250 is a great round. For the money the Cabelas Pine Ridge MT series is good. The MT stands for Multiple turrets. for $180 you can get a 6.5X18 that has 2 turrets calibrated for 50gr and 55 gr bullets out to 500 yards. I have one on a 17 Rem Model 700 LVSF. I haven't had any complaints. it has a side focus knob and the glass is surprisingly clear for the price. The other 5 turrets it comes with are for .204 and .223

a nikon 4-12 power would be more than enough
