I was told this twice by two different people in the last month and was wondering if anyone knows the facts. Is the max number of points entered into the draw 10? So if I have 14 points only 10 of those will go into the draw. If this is true it is crap!

No, not true.
-
Not even close to being true like bobcat said. You use all the points you have and you can collect as many as possible by not drawing, or turning in poachers and they get convicted. If you havn't turned in any poachers the most out there is 17. Your friends are miss informed or pulling your leg.

Not true... BTW- I have 17 for all the elk categories :bash:

Me too, you should come over to the loosers lounge, I'm passing out whine..... tons of it.
-
I am with you on the whine.... I think its been since 1996 for a draw elk tag. Kids that were born then are in the 11th grade. Crap that is sad.

I will have to re-read the regs. Why is everybody trying to get a draw? Why not just go hunting during hunting season? :dunno:
Forgive me though, I have been gone several years with the military so I am not up to date on all the rule changes sense I left.

Thanks wastickslinger, I am getting into elk hunting and was curious. Years ago after they did away with the either sex weekend, you had to get drawn for an either sex tag during modern firearm. kind of like Cable TV. when it came out you paid for cable tv so you didn't have commercials. Now you pay for it and get the commercials also. :yike:
