Been wanting that tag soooo loooong! I have been selected with 10 pts for the quality rifle. I shot my first deer there as a kid. Have only hunted there a few times in the last 20 yrs though. Time for exploring and camping this summer.
The buck on the right came from this unit in 1964. These are my Dad's bucks.

Here is mine from 2005.

Here are a couple bucks i spotted during a summer scouting trip along the Chiwawa river.
-
Here are a few we spotted last year. Not great quality cause they were 700 yds away and was using a point a nd shoot through the binos to get these. The one laying down is huge pics don't do it justice.
-
Here's one we spotted a couple years back during the early archery season right along the side of the road. We aren't bowhunters so when we drove a few hundred yards further down the road and pulled up alongside a group of hunters standing around, chitchattin and drinking beer, our lips were sealed. Gotta love those Chiwawa bucks! We've taken some dandies out of that unit over the years. I dream about that tag all the time. Congratulations and good luck!
-
That is a nice looking buck, funny story too.
-
If that was the buck along side highway 2 by the rest area there were 5 bucks hanging together. All were nice deer.
-
lucky guy... I had 13 pnts no draw.... :dunno:
-
Great pics everyone. Can hardly wait til I get back home so I can head over and do some poking around. Love that country.
-
Here's a few pics of my 2010 Chiwawa muzzy buck.

thats a heavy dude!
-
Holy moly i need that permit!

Nice, I drew the rifle tag as well! Looking forward to it!
Never hunted the Chiwawa that time of year. I've spent a lot of time on the Lake Wenatchee side over the years, but my sense is that most of the migration takes place on the Ardenvoir side. Was up there this weekend getting a brief lay of the land over there. Anyway, need to do a lot more learning between now and November.
-
I drew the tag 4 years ago and held out for a slammer but never found one. We had no snow at all which made it very tough. Plenty of 130/140 class bucks but nothing big and I hunted hard for 9 days. Took a pretty 4 point on day nine (130 class). I can help.I have spent a lot of time there and would do things a bit differently next time around...Funny thing is I got a 180 class buck during the general season the year before so you never know....
-
some nice bucks and congrats on a killer tag, HUNT HARD and you'll get a goodin'
