In the Extreme Knight does not make a 54, they do make a 52 though.  In the 52 you would only be able to shoot .458 (45-70) bullets in a grey Knight sabot or .475 bullets in a purple Knight sabot.

I have a 52 and love it for both elk and deer, but as the man said the 50 has more options.

For elk I shoot 120 grains of T7-3f, 458-300 grain Bloodline.  There are other bullet options but I am really impressed with the Bloodlines made by Lehigh for Knight.

Some items you might want to look into..

powder, caps and primers I buy local...
sportsmans wearhouse, Wholesale sports....etc.
Its been a while since I been in there but on river road in Puyallup there is a muzzleloader shop.
If you are getting a 52cal Extreme...PM me and I'll let you know what I have come up with

Do you get over to the Spokane area at all in your travels?  If you do look up the White Elephant stores and the cheapest place most often is the Black Sheep Store in CDA

And like 'Yote' suggested the old Sportsmans Warehouse now Wholesale Sports carries a lot of the supplies.

On line - check out Powder Valley for power and Grafs and sons for bullets...   http://www.grafs.com/  but mailing powder and or caps costs an arm and a leg.

Bloodlines have to be purchased from Knight in these packages....

So you get the sabot also...

Hey Mike, where do you buy your bloodlines from? I didn"t see them on the graf and sons website. Is Knight's website the only place you can get them?

Ya, that is the less than best thing about them they are proprietory to Knight.  They do come with the sabots that you would need also so count that into the price... but they are still expensive.

What I do most often is for sighting and shooting paper or birds I shoot the Sierra .458-300 grain bullet.  It is less expensive and then for hunting or an occasional target rtip and hunting shoot the Bloodlines.
