Just got back from our soon to be ANNUAL trip..... Florida Keys rock!... Five days -seven charters. Started off with a red flight to Miami. Got the rental and headed south for about 2hrs to our hotel. Relaxed a bit before an evening 2 boat Tarpon trip, Next day we did a group (5 of us) off shore trip and collected some excellent eating Mahi-Mahi.... I got a few extremely awesome fighting Tarpon -60lbs, 125 lbs and 140lbs... Oh yeah! Caught several 5-6 foot Nurse Sharks and a 7 foot Lemon Shark. A couple Barracudas, ogles of Sea Trout, Grouper, Lady Fish, Sea Catfish and a few fish I have forgotten their names..... Went primarily for the big fish and success was there. Now that they became check marks for fish, the quest has been placed in my brain for bigger & more Tarpon and Shark... Next year is in the planning phase!!!!! We all did equally well, one guy got a 250lb Goliath Grouper.

Gonna need a lot of pics on this one.

Finally figured out how to resize some of them.... I cannot explain, what an awesome trip it was. Everyone needs to give it a go for sure. Best fishing I have been in in a very long time... Variety!!!
One of the fights, Lemon Shark, Mahi-Mahi and Nurse Shark.

Love the mahi.....great fighting and man are they good eating! Keep the pics coming.

The Tarpon jumped, the hook and bait went through gills and the hook then wrapped around belly of fish 20 minute battle.... Once it got unhooked, then it was another 30 fight on his mouth... Mahi-mahi of mine and my buddies catch... And literally as many Sea Trout on ultra light rods as we could catch...
-
More of the wonderful Tarpon... Love those guys. Fantastic fighters.....

Some Barracudas and a nice morning ride out to sea for our Big Water trip...

Trying to figure out how to down load the GoPro camera films of the fights...

Nice! It's amazing what a bit warmer water and more sun will do for fish numbers.

Yes, this is on my to-do list!

Getting rid inshore netting helps also....
We might be supprised by our own fish numbers if the commercials and natives had to stay out of Puget Sound and its rivers.

My charter bill and hotel split was 1510... Times five of us... Minus food and flights.. (I had AK Airline Miles to cover my flight)
1200 for the big off shore trip. 400 for evening trips (which were really not worth the effort) and 500 for all day trips. We had two in our boat and they had three till one guy left early for work reasons in the other boat - 7 total trips. Best part it is 1K to rent same boat next next year - divided by three, inexpensive trip for sure... and do it without guide. Basic fishery and we have the same gear, just some terminal gear and we'll be cranking... Will do the big water with a charter, but reef and Everglades by ourselves...
