Title: wolf question?
Post by: longrangekiller on June 14, 2012, 07:58:49 PM
by no means do i like the idea of wolfs being brought back to washington but i got a question-

so i was thinking and Alaska and yellowstone both have there good fair share of wolfs. i was wondering why they dont have the same problems as idaho or other states with the wolfs and the elk and deer population? or do they and we just dont hear about it?

yellowstone doesn't consider what the wolves do to be bad.  The yellowstone northern elk herd went from 20 thousand to 4,500 elk over the years since wolves were introduced.  Alaska doesn't exactly like wolves all that much, hence all the aerial gunning for wolves.

Alaska also had a woman that was killed and partly eaten by wolves a couple years ago.  They've had lots of dogs attacked and killed by wolves too.
