Name of the refuge would be nice too.

Is it not marked on the WDFW Go Map??????
-
nope, don't think so

I myself always stay far enough away from the saftey zone so i don't need to wory about it. It really bugs me when people hunt or line up on the boundaries for hunting especially on the Lt Murray at taneum creek.
To me thats not hunting.
-
Just curious.... how far into the legal side do you have to be before it's hunting? :dunno:
-
I don't plan on hunting the fence. I suspect people that hunt the fenceline, don't really need a map. I know people will be hunting it, so I want to mark it off on my map as I do the private sections on the map. Also I can focus on the area away from the major roads and places where people might be concentrated. Also if I know where most people are, I might be able to set up on escape routes. The escape routes around the safety zone are likely into the zone, so person hunting the zone has to be lucky and be where they happen to be going into it. I also want to figure out my daily hikes, how far north before I have to backtrack or make a wide loop, and is that loop through prime elk country. If I don't have the boundaries, I suspect I will eventually find them on my trip.

I like the LC sportsmaps they have worked really well for me they have maps for all the gmu areas. Look up lcsportsmaps.com and you can also call them and they will tell you if what you need will show on the map or not.

Coffin game reserve , you can't miss it , wood fence on the clokum road to the east and three strand on the other sides , elk in the middle !
-
Call wdfw and tell them exactly what you said on here about why your looking for map.couple years ago I was looking for same info and they sent me a nice map packet

Dude just get in the woods and take a hike it's really pretty easy to find , if your bow hunting it would be smart to stay back aways , you cant go in there period even if you stick a elk (in less your indian ). a rut tag it might pay off being pretty close and heading them off . the south side has a good game trail and you cant miss it well posted .

Jechicdr I wouldn't bank on any type of hunting pressure pushing. Elk to you. Spot and stalk or setting up a stand on travel routes will work best.

Still don't want to be that close to where most people are hunting.

Got her drawn in. I'll probably be camped about 2 miles south of there, but may get as close as 1/2 mile in my explorations. The hike up onto the plateau may be a trek, but only a mile in from the road.
-
what tag do you have?
-
Drew Cow tag. Looking now though, I might be able to drive up to my anticipated campsite. Wonder who else is looking at that spot to camp.
