What floor is that?
-
Came from Bravo. Dad ordered it.

10X20 Kenai tent by Montana Canvas
-
12x16. Love canvas wall tents! We also have a 12x12 with a door on both ends that we butt up to the front and use as a cook/ eating tent (shown in the third and fourth pictures)
-
This will be the 4th season with mine this year. Add a little to camp each year. ;)
Pics are from 2009, 2010 and 2011 elk seasons in order.
-
More from this last year.
Started out with just the 12X17 heavy weight Montana Canvas.

Yakima Tent & Awning 12'x14' with 5' walls and a 5' porch, screen door and back window. This tent is four years old now and we've probably used it a dozen times. I had an old 14'x16' with external poles before. Internal frames and porches are a must in my opinion.

look at all that pabst, a man after my own heart
-
Those wood stoves make 'em nice and warm...just in case you have to put your deer inside to thaw it out before you skin him... :chuckle:
-
I hate that blue tarp sh!t. How do ya stand it? A white tarp costs the same price.
-
That's a nice buck too!
-
Wish i had to thaw a buck out in the tent! Thats awesome!
-
Nice deer, pathfinder! Something about the camp pictures, gets me thinking about hunting season even more than field photos of animals. Just love camping at that time of the year!! :cmp1:

I thought someone might comment on that :chuckle:

I do like the floor of the Bravo tents.
I think if I ever buy one it will be a15 X 18 Bravo with floor and 5 foot walls.
The 12 X 18 seems a little too narrow. STILL very nice pictures and the blue tarp cities that I drive by.

Thanks guys. I didn't get that one. That was my buddy's buck from the picture I posted on the first page.

Here is the picture of one of my wall tents and the pellet stove that we use for heating the tent, after I build a different hopper for it this year it will run all night!
-
Deerdog, That looks like a Riley stove, I have 2 of them. How does that pellet hopper work?

That's correct it is a Riley Stove . There is a piece of four inch square tube that goes in the back of the stove and inside it is a ramp at a 45 degree angle that the pellets side down and then as they burn, more just continue to slide down. It works excellent, never had any problems with it. Last year I made an extension to the hopper and it with burn all night 9 to 10 hours.

I've got that stove as well, more pics of the hopper!

Does Riley sell them or is it an aftermarket company?
-
Riley sells them you can look at them on there website. Rileystoves.com I bought mine from the wall tent shop out of Moscow I'D but it was shipped directly from Riley. I have had it for 4 years now. The last picture is another brand of pellet stove that my hunting partners use, it is strictly a pellet stove where mine you can burn pellets or wood if you choose.

Bravo makes a great tent. September archery, biked in camp.
We use a small rope loop and "S" hooks to get gear off the floor and up on the frame.
The clothes rod is made of 1" plastic electrical conduit and I didn't glue the vertical piece so that it breaks down and is easy to carry. Got the idea from Bravo, but theirs is made of metal pipe. Very handy.

Please clarify, what is worth every penny? Are you talking about the stove/tent, or the girlfriend/mattress or all of the above? LOL

Nice setup. You really bike that stove and tent all the way in? Wouldn't a Kifaru tipi and stove be lighter?
-
Dreaminbig,
If biking in, we take as much stuff as the trailers will carry and live large. Usually two trips per guy to carry gear in, if we really feel the need. If backpacking, I use the SL4, Kifaru style stainless stove made by Ed T. who designed the Kifaru stove, or bivy with a paratarp or no overhead shelter at all and just the Ti-Goat Omni and bag.
-
I like that clothes rod setup. Brilliant! Your stove is unfamiliar to me; what brand is it?
-
I wish I had not opened this thread. It's not yet July and I'm getting hunting fever from looking at the great camps and country...
-
Davis Tent 14x16 with awning, and a little wood! Love it
Wazzu
-
Wazzu, that is without question the most perfect camp I have ever seen in my life. I would have to supress the urge to wipe my boots off just walking up to it.
-
:yeah: That is a sharp looking camp right there
-
I don't know... looks like a lot of wood to split! :chuckle:
-
i can feel the blisters already :chuckle:
its amazing how much wood a camp goes through..esp if theres always peaple in camp
-
I don't know... looks like a lot of wood to split! :chuckle:
Nah, thats kindling and perfect burning size....would not even last all week at our deer camp...
-
waelkhunter
The stove is a Four Dog brand stove; 3-dog model. It has a baffle below the pipe hole to prevent heat and flames from shooting up the pipe so fast. We have only used it during September archery seasons, which means not a lot. Happy with what its done, but no experience trying to bank an all night fire to keep the tent warm in 15 degree cold.
-
Thanks guys. We had people asking if we were selling firewood!
-
Thxs Shawn. looks like it will hold heat for 8 hrs easy.
