Subject: 1st bull of the season 422 "

THIS BULL WAS TAKEN OUT OF UNIT 9 A COUPLE DAYS AGO.

THE 'GOVENRORS TAG' WHERE YOU HAVE FROM JULY

1ST TO JULY 1ST THE NEXT YEAR TO FILL IT. COST IS

$200,000.00 PLUS GUIDE FEE IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ONE.

THE BULL MEASURED 422" AND STILL GROWING

With all these farm bulls and private property bulls, governors tags etc. Or hiring a posse to locate the monster 450 bull down in the blues. :bash: It's just a rich mans game.The record book will have to have 5 different sections for the bulls or alot of asterisks. Me, I'm down with fair chase on public ground during state determined seasons. :twocents: It's about the hunt more than the harvest for me.

I'll probably never have that kind of money, but as long as someone else does and is willing to pay it, I'm okay with it. Esp when it goes to furthering more hunting opportunities in the future. If, however, the Governor of King County usurps that money to pay for her We-Love-Grandma-Day projects, then I'm against it. >:(

Post by: pendoreilleadventures on August 11, 2008, 03:26:23 PM: Althrough I would love to kill an elk that size if all it took was the cash to buy them then it's not hunting to me. these governors tag do go to good causes but still they shouldnt be allowed that my :twocents: granted I have guided the purchaser of the moose tag a few time so I can't complain. still if they want to get a mooseelk,deer etc. they can spend the 200,000 on raffle tickets.

If we as hunters dont stand up to this kind of money being spent for the guy that can afford to throw it around and take our opportunity away from us than we should just stop doing what our fathers and grandfathers taught us to do. too much money will be the end of us as sportsmen. I DONT LIKE THIS I SEE A BAD ENDING FOR THE PEOPLE THAT CANT THROW, THAT MUCH TIME AND MONEY AT THAT. WE AS SPORTSMAN ARE DOOMED.

I saw the following posted ad on Craigslist and wondered what the heck it was all about. Shoot as many bears as you want and being able to bait them??? Come on, what else can they do that we can't!!! I apologize if the whole Quniault thing has aready been Hashed out; I missed it. Here is the ad

3.5 Days of bear hunting on the quinault indian reservation over bait.Hunt using a bow,rifle or a pistol.We can set up a hunt anyway you want.The guide fee is 1200.00 for 3.5 days and the tags cost 250 each,you can shot as many bear as you like in those 3.5 days. Lots to see and experience on the reservation where hunting to non-indians is untill now,and for bear hunting only.If you are interested in hunting bear shot me an email and see if we can set something up!!This is may first year as a guide but dont let that stop you.I have hunted since i was 10 years old and have lots of experience.I also have a fishing guide bussiness so i am outdoors alot.You will have a great time and if youd like to call a few of my fishing clients as references id be happy to give you a few numbers. There are 2 bear seasons.The 1st starts march 1st till june 15th.The second one has already started aug 1st and runs till nov 31.

Go to Monster Muleys and check it out, the guy (Clark) actually posts on there quite a bit. Everyone seems to flame away on him, but I don't know anyone that would pass on that bull given the chance.

I assume it probably is per the regs (I haven't checked yet) and if it is I really think Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett should look at possibly eliminating these auction tags from fair chase if taken during the summer before the season starts. It is an entirely different experience and much easier than during the regular season. Anyone else agree or disagree?

A very nice bull; kudos to him for growing some great antlers.

I always find myself torn on liking velvet or not!

Im not 100% sure I know enough to comment on the pros and cons of these auction tags! Its a little confusing. The tags here are much more expensive than in the south... then that alone should raise plenty of money... Georgia tags cost 30$ total and they have more and better organized programs for wildlife than Ive ever seen here...

then add the regular auctions 5$ a piece...ect thats a lot of money

then add stuff like 200K special tags??

where the hell is this money spent?

I spent over 100 days in the woods this past year hunting public land...and Ive yet to even have my license checked by a game warden...where the hell does all that money go?

ok sorry...said I wounldnt comment...lol
