Title: Upland jacket for wife
Post by: Wingin it on January 08, 2017, 06:53:41 PM
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find upland jackets for women? I looked at Cabelas today and the smallest they carry is a men's medium and that is too large.

Wife really likes She Safari.  Warm, waterproof and fits.
Sounds like Bass Pro has an exclusive with them now.  http://www.basspro.com/Brand-SHE-Outdoor/Hunting-Clothing/_/N-1z0udz3Z1z0ust1

You might consider a strap vest over a conventional coat. My wife wears a windstopper sweater from Cabela's and an LLBean strap vest. Being 5'3" tall, she has found that any regular hunting type coat had too long sleeves.

I believe Orvis and LLBean have women's lines of hunting clothing.

I second the strap vest recommendation. Much more versatile for our state's bird season weather. Early season one can be sweating in tee shirts and late, it can be sub-zero (with wind! :yike:)

I fear I am a victim of my own gear. We both have vests for early season warm weather. I have a nice upland jacket for the late season that she likes and thinks she needs. I can't hardly tell her she doesn't need one when I have stated how much I enjoy mine. One doesn't think much about these things until the other half gets into the game and you find yourself buying two of everything. Marital problems when you are a hunting gear junkie. Lol!

Bird Lite makes a jacket in a small size. It has a waist belt to take the load of your shoulders and back. Benn a great jacket. I found them on sale last year and bought a another one in med. I'm 5ft 7 in and med is good for me. My friend bought a small one and he's 5ft 4in
Lots of pockets and 2 water bottle holders. If it weren't for barb wire my first jacket would have lasted a lot longer. I hate that stuff.
