It is with great sorrow and very heavy hearts that our family announce that Kevin Wolf, aka Iceman, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 after a 4 year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for this Saturday, March 25th at 11 am at Capital Christian Center, 4431 Martin Way East, Lacey WA.
Iceman enjoyed this site very much as well as meeting up with several of the members. Our son, Reece has expressed an interest in joining the site in near future.
Sincerely,
Kathi Wolf (Mrs. Iceman), Reece and Allison

WapitiTalk1,
I honestly don't know. I cross posted Mrs. Wolf's post on Virtual Campfire to inform those who might not read the other message. All the info I know is what's in her message. I have no way to connect with her, but I am hoping she comes back online or reaches out to others she knows on this forum. Sorry.

Thanks for sharing the message of Iceman's passing Sniper. So sad in so many ways. Many of us have battled the big C and Iceman's courage throughout his ordeal was/is truly inspirational. If Mrs. Iceman (Wolf) does come back on line, I would only say that I would be honored to help her family out in any way possible through these more than challenging times. There are no words that can help what she and her family are gong through now (and have went through).

RIP Iceman. So sorry to hear this. His smoked razor clam recipe will be enjoyed in my house forever.
-
The ICE set me straight on something one time, I forgot what it was but he put the smack down. RIP ICEMAN
-
Iceman was a prominent member and moderator of Hunting-Washington, his knowledge and participation will be missed but not forgotten. I met Kevin when he brought his kids hunting, it was a real pleasure visiting with him and his kids were two of the nicest most courteous youth I've met, they are a testament to his guidance as a great father and husband. Kevin was the kind of guy I would have like to have known better, my wife liked him too and has asked me numerous times how he is doing. We are sorry to hear this very sad news.
RIP Kevin (Iceman), the world is a better place because of you!
-
My thoughts and prayers are with Kevins family, may he rest in peace!!
-
I never met Kevin in person. I can say that he left us an wonderful example of how to live life. He talked often of family! Of the things that mattered. He faced his fate. He knew the battle he was facing didn't look good but fought it bravely. He talked about it, didn't shy from facts and will be missed. May we all figure out what really matters with the time that we still have.....

RIP ICEMAN. I never met him, I enjoyed hundreds of posts. I can see the picture of his kids grouse hunting everytime I think of him. He was a "family man" in every sense of the word. He had his stance and ALL knew where it was. He will be missed no doubt, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will live on through the many lives he touched here and in his everyday life. His real legacy will be those two amazing kids we got to know through him and his stories. I truly hope that they both join here or at least check in and let us know they saw these posts and how so many others feel about their Dad.
I would be a liar if I said I did not get a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye as I read this post today at lunch. We lost another good man. Time for the rest of us to pic it up a bit, there is room for more great men in every facet of life.

The service was great. I was particularly touched by Kevin's brother and daughter speaking, and how many co-workers showed up and expressed what a wonderful man he was to work with. There were at least 200 people there and almost filled the church. It was appropriate that the chaplain of the WDFW, a former gamie, spoke as well as leading prayers. After hearing everyone speak about him, I wish I'd known him more personally. But from what they all said, his personality certainly came out in his posts and interactions on HuntWA. Without exception, he was described as positive, empathetic, loving, strong, utterly devoted to his family, outspoken on the things he cared about, absolutely addicted to the outdoors, a great supervisor. I hope people speak like that about me at the end of my days. I'm sure his family, in the midst of their grief, were not surprised but extremely proud of what was said. Thanks for allowing us to be there, Wolf family.
-
All of his co-workers wore camo to the celebration, too. They had camo ribbons with "Wolf" on them to pin on your shirt. That was so great.
-
RIP Iceman, prayers and thoughts to the family.

Wanted to make sure this was posted here so you all could see. We decided to name the turkey hunt that Dale donates to our youth in Iceman's memory.
"Nock Nock" Chris made up this plaque and donated it to Dale for the youth turkey hunt this past weekend.
