Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever?
-
These dogs were used by market hunters to lure rafts of waterfowl close to shore so they could flock shoot them in mass. The dogs run and splash along the shore and for some reason the birds swim closer to see what the commotion is. I'm not sure why or how it all worked but thats what I understand about them. I know ducks don't like my lab on the shore though.

Great little dogs, if I ever get another dog it will be a NDTR or AWS. I'm 70 and had to put down my hunting/companion dog late last Nov. I've been hunting waterfowl for 60 yrs and right now I don't want to go through losing another dog.
