I can't compete on photo quality with a cell phone and no zoom lens, but he was hanging out in the back yard yesterday.

That looks like a great opportunity to bulldog/steer wrestle that buck. "Hold my beer and watch this!"

Looks like the velvet is about done for this year.
-
Here is a beauty I was able to spend the last 20min of light with this summer
-
This guy was still in velvet last week. Not sure he is all there :yike:
-
Well it's getting to be that time of year again. Lets see what you got
-
That last bull brings new style, very strange
-
Blacktail and bulls
-
My focus was a touch off, and resizing makes it worse, but still like the pic.
-
Thanks for sharing, Nock.

Out of curiosity, when do deer in velvet typically stop bone growth? does it slow in the later summer months, or do they grow right up until the velvet falls off? I guess my game cameras will answer the question for me if I'm lucky.

:yeah: I am also curious about elk. When do they typically stop growing? Saw this one on Saturday and was wondering how much more he's gonna grow if any. (Sorry for the poor quality. It's a Phone Skope Pic.)

You folks should post some pics here:

We got the photo of the month contest going again and this month's theme is velvet bucks and bulls.

Big bulls are pretty much done growing by this week. The smaller bulls will still grow a little longer.

That's when the velvet comes off. You'll find the big bulls are pretty much done growing by now.
-
Here you go. Old pics everyone’s seen before but look at the antlers and look at the dates. All the same bull. He didn’t change much at all from early July to let August.

Well it looks like the Velvet is over for this guy this year.
-
Great pics guys
-
One with, one without.
-
That's a cool pic
-
Another one from Montana.
-
This bull finished out pretty nice. From June to October 2018.
-
does this count? I shot him on the last day of muzzy season.
-
.
-
Bindweed buck
Major food source this time of year, mothers must have taught them where all the patches are. Middle of a large monoculture, wheat, requires some memory
-
My september target. Been watching this guy since 2015. Finally ready to make a move on him.
-
That's a great Washington buck! Good luck.
-
What a masher, Bango. I hope you get him.
-
blacktail

Done growing apparently.
-
All sorts of big. Wow.
-
Dang Bango. I'd be sitting in a tree for a week waitin' on that guy.
-
Just checked my cams today after a 1.5 month soak. Hopefully this guy sticks around til October...
-
Or this guy...
-
@Pathfinder101--Is that a mule deer in the first pic or whitetail? I once saw whitetail with similar configuration and always thought it looked more like mule deer antlers.

He's definitely a mule deer. Hard to tell from just one pic, but I think he is 3 on his passenger side and 4 points on the other. Unfortunately he's only shown up once, and only for one pic. Hoping he stays in the area until October.
-
Saw this guy who had some extra stuff in his antlers. He tried to shake it out but still was packing it around the last time I saw him.
-
The rest.
