So what's everyone rifle choice for the 2017 season? I will be using this Smith Corona 1903a3 30-06 sporter with a Nikon Pro-Staff 4-12×40mm scope and 4" sun shade. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
-
This year will be/has been already, the Parker Hale re-bored to 35 Whelen w/Zeiss Conquest scope. For bear and elk.
-
If I have time to get out, this will be the rifle for bear this year. Savage stealth 6.5 creedmoor topped with a NF 5-20x56 SHV. Shooting handloaded 140 grain accubonds.
-
That's a very cool rifle
-
6.5 Grendel  IT was never my first choice, and still might not be for every hunt, but after dropping a big boar with it it a last week, I like it.
-
Tikka T3 in 30-06 w/ Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 shooting 150 grain Barnes TTSX
-
Tika t3 300 win man. Topped off with a vortex viper hslr rifle scope. Tac driver. Love this rifle!!
-
Browning blr .308 4x leupold 150 grain federal
-
Sako 270 win with a swarovski z5 3.5×18×44 and 130gn federal ammo
-
CZ-550 American 6.5x55mm with 120gr Barnes TTSX bullets. Scope is a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40. Pretty basic, not super light weight, but should do the job.

Savage DOA hunter .308 Winchester with the Bushnell Trophy w/DOA 600 reticle

All GREAT selections from everyone. These are all beautiful rifles and fantastic calibers. Anyone using a compound, recurve, longbow, or muzzle loader? KEEP THEM COMING!👍😀💥🔫🇺🇸

Just realized this is a thread about what your using for bear..
I will be using mine for deer, oh well ;)
I'll have a bear tag, just in case so you knows, maybe when it's said and done it'll be used for bear anyways :P

Nedd to get this out of the safe.....think it would work just fine :chuckle:
Winchester Model 70 Super Grade .375 H&H
-
I'll be using my ruger m77 7mm mag with 160 gr nosler partions. Very accurate combo with stopping power.
-
I'm committed to using either my 338/375 Ruger Striker or the 480 Ruger to hunt with this year. Fortunately I have plenty of meat in the freezer left over from last year. :chuckle:

260gr Hammer Hunters at 2730 fps from the 338 mean that anything inside of any reasonable rifle range (and some not so reasonable ranges) will hit the ground. The 480 is good for everything inside of 75 yards.
Who needs a rifle......

That Stryker just looks wicked.

Savage Long Range Hunter in 300wsm topped with Leupold VX6.
-
May try old school this year for bear and elk with a neat Savage 99-358 Winchester I recently scored from the Cabelas gun library. Just depends on how it shoots.
-
I'm toting a 6.8 spc ii with an 18" triad barrel from ARP.
Has only taken deer so far but this year that will change.
