So there is no way to know when they release the birds? I understand the reasoning but sure makes it tough when you want to travel 3 hours or so to hunt birds! Anybody had any luck in eastern washington yet on release sites? I've been doing well on wild birds but wanting to change it up a bit.

Try the West side, they release every Friday, Sat, & Tues after 4:00pm.

How's the pressure? Id assume a ton of people. I just can't imagine hunting the westside for pheasants :chuckle:

i have found the release sights pretty good. just don't go at 8am.'
For most part people are out of field by 10. PS early hunters don't get all the birds.

Thats my game plan most the time. Hit the ffth and state land first, then the release sites in afternoon.

The release site I always hunted had pressure on opener but then nothing. The planted birds would never fly away just stand there and stare at you. Clearly they didn't understand that humans carry benelli shotguns outside of the pens. HaHa. Still tasted good and that's what mattered to me.

Just wanted see if anybody knows if there's been allot of hunters hunting the Cottonwood release site? If so did you see any birds beside the released ones like Qauils , Huns or Chuckers
